Psalm 24:10 says, "Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah."
Jehovah Sabaoth, the LORD of hosts, is His name!! HE is the King of glory. When I was a child, I always thought this verse was talking of the King of heaven, because my spiritual family always referred to heaven as glory: "He was taken up to glory," "I'm in the Gloryland way," etc. But the glory of the Lord is more than heaven. From Strong's Concordance, we learn that the word for "glory" means "weight, splendor, copiousness." Truly, He is weighty, He is the epitome of splendor, and He has endless abundance!
So, Who is this King of weight, splendor and copiousness, or abundance? Jehovah Sabaoth, the LORD of hosts, the Commander of the armies of heaven! Talk about weight!!! He commands the very armies of the heavens, and I am not talking about a host of girly, frilly angels, but warrior angels, mighty angels, created to carry out His every command!!!! THIS is our King of glory!!!! He is the most glorious LORD!!!
With such a LORD, "If God be for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31b)

Psalm 3:8 says, "Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah."
There are two other "selahs" in this psalm, but this is the one that spoke to me. David wrote this psalm when he fled from his son, Absalom, who wanted his throne. From the previous verses we find that David slept and awoke unharmed and wrote this testimony, that salvation belongs to God and blessings belong to the people of God. When life throws us in the deep end, and perhaps even people we love have turned against us, the Lord is still our Protector, Shield, Deliverer, Savior!! If we are His people, He is for us! Experience taught David that.
The "Selah" tells me to stop and think about what the Lord has done for me in the past that will build my faith for what I am going through now! He has done great things in my life: saved me, healed me numerous times, provided for me when there seemed no other way, protected me when an accident seemed immanent, filled a room with His very Presence until He was tangible, prayed through me, answered so many prayers and let me witness the answers, given me a scripture verse just when I needed it, healed both of my parents from lymphoma, protected me from evil spirits, blessed me with a godly husband all the way from Idaho, given me "raindrops," reminders that He is at work answering long-time prayers, and so many other things. It is time to pause and think about these miracles and have my faith built to know that He will do these things and more in my behalf!
Think about the miracles He has done in your life. If you can only think of one right now, think on it, and borrow mine until you remember yours. Or listen to the testimonies of others who have been delivered. It is time to stop and think about it!
Salvation does belong to the Lord, and He does bless His people! Praise His holy Name!!
